I am astounded to read that online dating works, with ten million American couples as proof. And I had never yet heard of the term ‘relationshopping’. I must be quite old-fashioned, but my mum always told me not to give my email address to strangers. She would create a picture in my mind of the Zodiac killer uploading a male model’s picture, in order to kidnap me to cyber world.
But (as with so many other things my mum tried to warn me about) online dating is nothing to be scared of. It is not more dangerous than offline dating. It is just a different way of meeting people.
I had a look at LoveMe.eu to see how exactly this online dating works.
I find that I can browse through profiles and read quite a lot about everyone without signing up, but that I need to be registered and in a ‘relationship’ with the person before I can see all information.
That means creating a profile. After creating a profile, you can start ‘relationshopping’. What a word!
The more I am looking at it, the more it looks like fun. I had forgotten how exciting dating can be. I can feel butterflies already. If I were a single, I might actually want to try online dating. I can see it already. Because I really don’t like go out of my normal routine that much, between home and work and the long standing activities with the same old friends, this could be the way to meet a totally new person.
