A four leaf clover is said to bring good luck. White clover in particular was held in high esteem by the early Celts of Wales as a charm against evil spirits. Some say that a four leaf clover was a sign of a fairy or elf, which meant that miracles could happen. Others say that the leaves of a clover represent Faith, Hope, and Love and a fourth leaf would mean Luck. And Irish tradition describes the 3 leaves symbolize the Holy Trinity: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The fourth leaf would then represent God’s Grace.
I’m looking over a four-leaf clover
That I overlooked before
One leaf is sunshine, the second is rain
Third is the roses that grow in the lane
No need explaining, the one remaining
Is somebody I adore
Mort Dixon, 1927

There are about 10,000 three-leaf clovers for every four-leaf clover, so you are already lucky to find one. Even more so if it is going to bring you good luck.

The 4 leaf clover has always fascinated many and they do see it as a symbol for luck. I don’t believe in luck. Rather I believe in providence, not just any providence. It must be from God. I do like the faith, hope and love aspect and even the Holy Trinity aspect. Whatever it means to whomever, I believe it represents good. Thanks for the post!
