Most people find a partner through friend, family and colleagues. When no one (or The One) does not show up, people have to start a more active search. The place where you search is crucial to the partner that you are looking for. If you don’t like a partner who smokes and drinks, then you should not hang around bars looking for someone. If you do like an intellectual partner who reads books, join a book club. Love the outdoors type, borrow the dog of your neighbor and go for a walk.
When you are stuck in your own routine of work, shopping, eating and already met everyone at the fitness club and in your favorite restaurant, it is time for a change. Go to a different grocery store, start another sport, or pick up a new hobby to meet new people. Also, visit your regular places at different times, to see some new faces. Places where you are active or focusing on something other than finding a partner are often less stressful. It is easier to talk to someone at a sports club than trying to find an opening sentence in a bar.
Another popular way to find a partner in the 21st century is through dating sites. Nothing wrong with that. If you meet someone online, make an appointment sooner rather than later. This way you can get a better picture of the person right away. Through email contact it is so easy to misjudge a person and get yourself disappointed later.
Finding a partner is a little like networking. If you cannot find The One through your own little network of relatives and friend, it is time to expand that network and meet new people. If you do not meet The One in these new places, you might meet people who will introduce you to him.

Yes, kind of like finding the right job. Many people hate to think of it this way and consequently sit around their house waiting for “the one” to knock.
Wake up people!!! This isn’t fairy tale land.
Good post, ideas!
